Overview
Mornings full of Latin rhythm. Afternoons on the beach. Evenings that only end when your legs say so. Málaga is different from what you’d expect. Not a tourist destination, but a city that’s alive, with an atmospheric historic centre, endless beaches and a dance scene that only truly kicks off at night. And you’re right in the middle of it. Every morning, you’ll have three hours of classes with Juan and Cici, two of Málaga’s most sought-after local instructors, who truly have salsa in their blood. Or with Lorenzo and Meike from Bachata Passion. The afternoons are yours: relax by the pool, head to the beach, explore the Alcazaba, or simply enjoy espetos on a terrace.
Accommodation: Hotel Sol Guadalmar
Right on Guadalmar beach, ten minutes from the airport and fifteen from the centre. Modern rooms with a balcony and sea view, two outdoor pools, wellness facilities and a generous breakfast buffet to set you up each morning. In the morning you step straight onto the beach. That’s the advantage of a hotel that knows what it is: a perfect home base for dancing, sun and Spanish atmosphere.
Highlights
- Málaga is surprisingly affordable
- Travelling solo? No problem. The group is diverse: from 25 to 65+, beginners alongside advanced dancers, people who arrive alone and leave with friends.
- October: perfect timing. The summer crowds are gone, the beach is quiet, the city breathes again. Temperatures around 22–25 degrees.
- The Alcazaba & the historic centre — 800 years of Moorish architecture above the city, then down into the Casco Antiguo for tapas and a glass of Málaga wine.
